Old Rajans Rugby Team Finishes as Runners-up at the Thomian Rugby 7’s Toronto 2024

The Old Rajans Rugby team secured the runners-up position at the Thomian Rugby 7s, organized by St. Thomas’ College OBA Canada. The event took place in Toronto, Canada, on August 25, 2024.Ten teams were initially set to compete; however, only eight participated after Royal College and Ananda College withdrew. The teams that played were St. Peter’s, St. Joseph’s, St. Anthony’s, Isipathana, Trinity, Wesley, St. Thomas’, and Dharmaraja.
In the group stages, the top two teams from each group advanced to the semifinals. From Group A, Dharmaraja and St. Joseph’s progressed, while Isipathana and St. Thomas’ advanced from Group B. Dharmaraja beat Isipathana in the semifinal, earning a spot in the final. In the final match at Fletcher’s Fields, Dharmaraja was defeated by St. Joseph’s, finishing as the runners-up of the 2024 tournament.
